Preserving 50 years of legacy through storytelling, media, and digital experience for the RWJF Health Policy Fellows program.
Summary of Project — RWJF Health Policy Fellows
To celebrate 50 years of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellows program, Blake Learning Solutions partnered with program leadership and alumni to document, preserve, and share the program's legacy through a multi-format storytelling initiative — including a digital exhibit, keepsake coffee table book, and documentary-style videos.
When the RWJF Health Policy Fellows program began planning for its 50th anniversary, they knew a history project would be central. But they didn't know what form it should take. RWJF HPF partnered with Blake Learning Solutions to define the right path forward. Together, we established clear goals:
By combining a digital exhibit, documentary-style video, and a printed book, we created a solution that captures the depth of the program's history while making it accessible, engaging, and easy to expand over time.
A living, web-based version of the story featuring interpretive text, embedded video and oral histories, archival documents and photography, designed for exploration and ongoing updates.
We conducted 67 interviews capturing 40+ hours of footage, then edited it into 55 separate videos totaling 4+ hours of finished film. First-person narratives from fellows and leaders bring depth, emotion, and authenticity to the story.
A visually rich, tangible keepsake combining images, quotes, and key moments — informed by 3 days in the NASEM Archives and nearly 3,000 collected items including documents, photographs, and program ephemera.
